An Element of Water: Timelessness

‘We do not step into the same river twice’

The river of time always flows into the eternity of the ocean. Time is continuous with each moment a miracle of formation and dissipation. The past we cannot return to, and the future we cannot attain, always just beyond the boundless horizon. The present is eager for the future and looks back on the past, but it is neither.

We unfold in time. We look forward in hope, and look back to try and understand who we are. It is in our unfolding that hopes form and dissipate, that understanding forms and dissipates. It is once we are aware of what presence means, to be within timeless liminal space, that we can treat life with respect and humility and allow our consciousness to evolve and be eternal, appreciating every step in the river of life.
